Key Lime Pie

This is a quick recipe for a delicious pie. It's my favorite. The handmade crust variation is wonderful!

Ingredients

29" Graham Cracker Crusts,
8oz lime juice,
16oz Cool Whip,
14oz sweetened condensed milk, (1 can)
22 graham crakers, processed to fine crumbs
6tablespoons granulated sugar,
10tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1medium lime, for zest

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • two 9" pie plates

Directions

  1. For speed, use the premade crusts and heat at 325 degrees for 5 minutes. For taste, heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix crumbs and sugar in medium bowl. Add butter; stor with fork until well blended. Scrape mixture into 2 9" pie pans and press crumbs flat. Bake for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix the lime juice and zest of one lime into the condensed milk. Fold 8 oz of Cool Whip into mix until smooth and pour half of mix into each pie crust.
  3. Spread remaining Cool Whip over pies and cool for at least three hours. Serve and enjoy!
