Yields:
 2 loaves

Ingredients

12ounces warm milk,
1 1/2teaspoon salt,
2tablespoons butter, softened
4cups bread flour,
1 1/2tablespoons sugar,
2teaspoons active dry yeast,

Equipment

  • 2 greased loaf pans
  • bread machine

Directions

  1. Warm the milk and the butter in the same container in the microwave for 1 minute. Mix the ingredients in order into the bread machine. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Set the bread machine on dough setting (so it will not perform the final cook phase) and press go. Wait about 1 hour until bread is finished with first rise. It should beep.
  3. Punch dough down and split into two loaves. Place inside greased loaf pans and let rise on warm oven for 1/2 hour or until doubled.
  4. Place pans in the center of the oven and cook for 20 - 30 minutes until brown on top. Remove and coat with butter and lightly salt. Let cool for 30 minutes before serving.
