Mushroom Saute

This is a wonderful accompaniment to any meal- we had a lovely steak and mashed potatoes- but these mushrooms took the prize!

Ingredients

1tbsp olive oil,
1tbsp butter,
1lb fresh mushrooms (white,shiitake,cremini), sliced
2cloves garlic, minced
1/2tsp kosher salt,
black pepper,
2-3tbsp chicken broth,

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • wooden spoon

Directions

  1. Heat oil and butter in saute pan over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic. Sprinkle with salt.
  2. Do not touch for 2-3 minutes, increase heat to medium high for 5 minutes (steady sizzle) and stir occasionally. The key is to stir no more than once a minute.
  3. Cook another 2-4 minutes, toss, add chopped parsely if desired and enjoy!
