Cuban Ground Turkey

Ingredients

1/2Tbsp Canola Oil,
1Lb Ground Turkey,
2small yellow onions, chopped
2medium red bell peppers, chopped
6Tbsp Tomato Sauce,
1/2Tsp Garlic Powder,
1Tsp Salt,
1/4Tsp Dried Oregano,
1/4Tsp Cumin,
1/2Cup Dry Red Wine, (Rec: Wollersheim Winery Domaine du Sac)
Green Olives,

Equipment

  • Saucepan or large fry pan

Directions

  1. Brown the turkey in the saucepan and set the turkey aside.
  2. Add the oil to the empty saucepan and sweat the onions.
  3. Return the turkey to the saucepan and add all of the remaining ingredients EXCEPT for the olives.
  4. Simmer for 20-35 minutes (until all the liquid has been absorbed, the peppers are soft, and the flavors have combined).
  5. Garnish with green olives. Serve with Yellow Cuban Rice.
